Card payments in. Stablecoins out.
A normal card checkout
Customers see your business, the items, taxes, shipping and total in CAD or USD. They are buying your goods. They do not buy, hold or receive crypto, and they don't need a wallet.
Settlement by a licensed provider
The card payment is processed by your provider. Where the provider offers stablecoin settlement for your business, it converts your proceeds and discloses the rate and fees. Orion never converts funds or holds them.
USDC to your verified wallet
Settlements go only to a wallet you control and have verified. Changing it requires re-authentication, an ownership check and independent review, and your whole team is notified.
Choose how money reaches you
The customer experience is always clear about what is being bought. Your settlement choice never changes your customer's rights.
| Model | What the customer does | What you receive | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Card → fiat settlement | Buys your goods by card | CAD or USD to your verified bank account | Provider-dependent |
| Card → stablecoin settlement | Buys your goods by card | USDC to your verified wallet | Provider approval required |
| Direct crypto checkout | Pays you in USDC from their own wallet | USDC directly to you, verified on-chain | Sandbox simulation |
What stays the same
Refunds and chargebacks still apply
A card purchase keeps the customer's card refund and dispute rights, even if you were settled in USDC. Plan for refunds in the currency the customer paid.
Stablecoins carry their own risks
USDC is an issuer's liability, not cash in a bank. Its value isn't guaranteed, and blockchain transfers can't be reversed by Orion.
Nothing is live yet
Orion is in development. No provider offering card-to-stablecoin settlement is contracted, and approval for your business is never guaranteed.
